I'm Sean Burke and I am currently the Director of Engineering at GoLinks. I graduated with my Masters in Computer Science from UC San Diego and I did my undergraduate at UC Irvine where I double majored in Electrical Engineering and Business Information Management.

When it comes to coding, I am most fluent in Java, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. I also know many other languages such as C/C++, Java for Android and Objective-C for iOS development, but I am more comfortable with the previous mentioned languages.

I'm happy at GoLinks and currently not looking for a job.

  • Google Hackathon Winner

    UC Irvine senior engineering student Sean Burke and UCI alumnus Jorge Zamora ’09 took third prize in Google’s recent Youtube Hackathon in Los Angeles.

    About 70 people (software developers, CEOs, marketers, presenters) attended the Google-hosted event. The task was to build an application for Youtube and the new Google TV platform, using the Youtube API and/or Google TV API.   • Researcher of the Month

    Sean Burke has been conducting information science research since his second year at UC Irvine. One of the things Sean most enjoys about his research is the ability to take an idea and develop it into something that can have real use to people every day. He is looking forward to sharing his passion with beginning researchers, serving for the coming year as the resident advisor for the UROP Hall in the Middle Earth Housing Community. Sean was recognized for his commitment to research with the 2012 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research for the Henry Samueli School of Engineering.

  • President Develops ESCan

    Sean T. Burke, president of the Engineering Student Council (ESC) at The Henry Samueli School of Engineering, developed the ESCan wristband system to control attendance and gather data about attendance at events throughout National Engineers Week (E-Week) in an effort for ESC to improve planning for future events.

    The ESCan system uses barcode wristbands that participants wear and are scanned at each event providing the demographics of attendees. Burke developed the code for the software in five weeks...
