Day 1
Stockholm, Sweden

On Day One, I arrived at Stockholm, Sweden. It was a beautiful day with no clouds and plenty of sun. I decided to take a steamboat tour out into the archipelago to view Lake Mälaren and Sweden. On the tour, I learned that Stockholm is generally referred to as Beauty on Water because the city is built on 14 islands. It is surrounded by Lake Mälaren, and by the Baltic Sea. The vast waters and green landscapes made Sweden a wonderful scenic place.

Next I participated in Walpurgis Night, the Feast of Valborg and the official start of spring. Swedes and other Scandinavians celebrate it every year on the 30th of April. Later that day, I stayed at the Clarion Hotel in Stockholm.
